Pázmány, Peter#
b. Oradea, Romania (then Grosswardein), Oct. 4, 1570, d. Bratislava, Slovakia (then Pressburg), March 19, 1637, Jesuit, theological author. Studied in Krakow, Vienna and Rome and taught (until 1616) at the University of Graz; 1617 Archbishop of Gran, 1629 cardinal. 1623 constructed the Pazmaneum in Vienna (seminary for Hungarian students) and the seminary in Tyrnau, which was later made a university and subsequently became the University of Budapest. His significance is reflected in his epithet "2nd apostle of Hungary".
