Pötzl, Johannes#
b. Vienna, March 25, 1930, d. Vienna, Nov. 2, 1993, mathematician and physicist; grandson of Eduard (see) Poetzl. Studied mathematics and physics at the University of Vienna from 1948 to 1952 and technological physics at Vienna University of Technology from 1952 to 1956, where he continued to pursue his scientific career: Habilitation in electronics in 1964, from 1966 Professor of Physical Electronics, 1985-91 head of the Department of General Electrical Engineering and Electronics, Emeritus Professor in 1993. Important research in the field of semiconductor technology and teacher of a large number of well-known personalities including: E. (see) Gornik and S. (see) Selberherr.
