Pahlen, Kurt#

b. Vienna, May 26, 1907, musicologist and writer. Student of G. Adler in Vienna, emigrated to South America in 1939, 1949-1972 professor at Montevideo University, then returned to Europe (Switzerland). Considered one of the most productive authors on 19th-century music. Specialised in the early musical education of children (e.g. workshops in the course of the Carinthischer Sommer Festival ).

Over 50 books, mainly about the great composers of the 19th century, also music encyclopaedias and general histories.
