Pinka#
Pinka, River, Burgenland, north-western confluent of the River Raab, rises near Niederwechsel (Styria, alt. 1,669 m); predominantly good water quality (standard 2), average rate of flow near Woppendorf 2.5 m3/sec. In the middle course the river flows through the province of Burgenland in a southeastern direction and meanders across both Austrian and Hungarian territory on its lower stretches below Eisenberg (alt. 415 m). The mouth of the river is south of Koermend (Hungary). South of Pinkafeld the Sued-Autobahn A 2 follows the course of the valley. Main towns: Pinggau (alt. 527 m), Pinkafeld (alt. 399 m) and Oberwart (alt. 315 m).
