Pirchegger, Anton#
Pirchegger, Anton, b. Leopersdorf/Allerheiligen im Muerztal, Styria, June 5, 1885, died Leopersdorf, March 1, 1949, farmer and politician (Christian Socialist Party, later OeVP). Member of the Nationalrat 1920-31, 1934-38 president of the Styrian Provicial Diet; from 1938 until 1945 farmer, from May 1945 Landesrat (provincial minister) for food supply and agriculture, while continuing to work as a farmer, from December 1945 until 1948 Provincial Governor of Styria (also in charge of food supply and agriculture), retired for health reasons a few months before his death.
