Politische Schulverfassung 1805#
School Administration Act of 1805 ("Administration Act governing German schools in the imperial and k. k. German hereditary states"), administered the Austrian elementary school system between 1806 and 1869. It returned the right of pedagogic and didactic supervision at the lower and middle school levels fully to ecclesiastical functionaries (parish priests, deans), whose functions and activities were, however, governed by this Act and by governmental orders. As a result of its administrative system, the Church thus had a very strong influence on the school system.
