Pradler Bauerntheater#
Pradler Bauerntheater, founded as an amateur theatre group in Tyrol in 1762; itinerant theatre troupe performing peasant plays until it settled down in Pradl bei Innsbruck in 1870. One of the actors of the Pradler Bauerntheater was F. Exl. The theatre group broke up in 1917, but was revived after the Second World War. From 1966-1996 the "Original Pradler Ritterspiele" performed their plays in the Cafe Prueckel in Vienna´s 1st district. The programme featured "knightly dramas" and robber plays, with deliberate and often grotesque involvement of the audience in the action (dialogue, jeers, etc.); particularly popular scenes were repeated on request.
