Putz, Hans, b. Vienna, Nov. 17, 1920, d. Hamburg (Germany), Jan. 31, 1990, actor. Took acting and singing lessons in Vienna, from 1937 in Zuerich (co-operation with K. Paryla and A. Bassermann), from 1945 member of the Vienna Volkstheater company (Nestroy actor under director G. Manker), later occasionally at the Theater in der Josefstadt and at the Salzburg Festival; in the 1960s at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel in Munich, later in Berlin and Hamburg (from 1969 at the Thalia Theater under B. Gobert); tours of Germany; director (e.g. "One flew over the cuckoo´s nest" in Bregenz), worked for film and television.
