Röbbeling, Hermann#
b. Stolberg am Harz (Germany), Oct. 31, 1875, d. Vienna, June 4, 1949, theatre intendant. 1915-1932 brought about the financial consolidation of the Thaliatheater and the Schauspielhaus in Hamburg; 1932-1938 director of the Burgtheater (cycle "Stimme der Voelker im Drama"). Engaged the actors Hermann Thimig, M. Eis and the directors E. Lothar and H. Waniek. Through a varied repertory and effective advertising he managed to draw a new kind of audience to the Burgtheater.
