Rainbach im Muehlkreis, Upper Austria, market town in the district of Freistadt, alt. 719 m, pop. 2,881, area 49.05 km2, south of Kerschbaumer Sattel pass, in the northern part of the Muehlviertel region. - Summerau customs office and customs post; wood processing, maintenance centre for West Austria Gas Lines (OMV). - Late Gothic church (1480) with square choir (1st  half of 14th  century), bells (15th and 16th centuries); funeral chapel above the charnel house (end of 14th  century).
