Rauch, Wolf, b. Graz (Styria), March 7, 1952, information scientist. Studied mathematics, statistics, business informatics and economic informatics in Vienna. 1977-1982 teaching and research assistant lecturer, then lecturer at the University of Vienna; 1982-1984 head of the Communication Section at the Society for Information and Documentation in Frankfurt am Main (Germany), 1984-1987 professor at Klagenfurt University, from 1987 head of the Department of Information Sciences at Graz University, 1997-1999 rector.
