Raumplanung, Österreichisches Institut für, ÖIR#
Austrian Institute for Regional Studies and Special Planning, established in 1957 as "Institut fuer Raumplanung" (Institute for Regional Studies, its name was changed in 1962), originated from the "Workshop for Regional Studies and Special Planning" which was founded in 1951; organised under the Law of Associations. One of its members is the Federal Government represented by the Federal Chancellery. The Institute has 40 employees and is located in Vienna. Its task is to prepare drafts for national and provincial regional planning policy. These drafts are based on practical research in the fields of national, regional, town and village planning.
