Redemptoristen#
Redemptorists (C.SS.R., also called Liguorians), Catholic Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, founded in 1732. Introduced into Austria by C. M. Hofbauer, suspended 1848-1852; their activities are characterised mainly by spiritual care, lay mission and retreats. Foundations in Austria: Vienna 1st district (provincialate) and 17th district, Katzelsdorf an der Leitha, Eggenburg, Leoben, Puchheim, Innsbruck, Oberpullendorf. Female Redemptorists (founded in 1731, 1831 first Austrian branch in Vienna) can be found in Ried im Innkreis and in Lauterach.
