Renner, Alexander#
Renner, Alexander, b. Tallinn, Estonia (then Reval), May 29, 1892, d. Graz (Styria), March 1, 1966, aviation pioneer, son of the artiste Franz R. (1866-1912). On Aug. 26, 1909 on the occasion of the Graz autumn trade fair demonstrated with his brother Anatol R. ("Renner-Buben") the first flights in a steerable airship in Austria; its motor was designed by J. Puch; further flights in Vienna and Linz shortly afterwards. During World War I R. was a fighter pilot.
