Reyl-Hanisch, Herbert von Greifenthal#
Reyl-Hanisch, Herbert (von Greifenthal), b. Vienna, April 18, 1898, d. Bregenz (Vorarlberg), Feb. 11, 1937, painter of the neo-Romantic period and of the New Objectivity. From 1916 suffered from a lung disease. 1917-1920 studied at the Vienna School of Arts and Craft. From 1920 visited Bregenz regularly, moved there in 1934. Painted portraits for wealthy clients and illustrated books by E. Colerus, R. Binding and others; acquainted with F. Sedlacek.
Work: "Der Jugendmeister" (1936 published as a "Reichspostkarte"
postcard).
