Rinn#
Rinn, Tyrol, municipality in the district of Innsbruck-Land, alt. 918 m, pop. 1,142 (1981: 937), area 10.65 km2; tourist resort (82,877 overnight stays in 1992); former place of pilgrimage; situated in the Mittelgebirge Mountains south of Hall in Tyrol. Rococo parish church (dating from 1775/76); former pilgrimage church (between 1670 and 1678); built on what is called the "Jews´ stone", a place where a ritual murder allegedly took place in 1463 (Anderl von Rinn). Pilgrimages forbidden by the church authorities in 1965.
