Rochowanski, Leopold Wolfgang#
Rochowanski, Leopold Wolfgang, b. Zlate Hory, Czech Republic (then Zuckmantel), Aug. 3, 1885, d. Vienna, Sept. 13, 1961, poet, playwright, narrative writer, librettist, art historian, publisher. Studied philosophy and law in Vienna, from 1913 editor of Austrian and foreign publications; founded the performance theatre "Der Buecherkasten" together with L. Steinmetz and L. Sandor, organized exhibitions and performed as a dancer. 1923/24 head of the Thyrsos publishing company. Was prohibited from publishing under the National Socialists, 1946-1948 head of the Agathon publishing company and editor of the "Agathon-Almanache". Exponent of Expressionism.
