Rosbaud, Hans, b. Graz (Styria), July 22, 1895, d. Lugano (Switzerland), Dec. 29, 1962, conductor. Worked mainly in Germany (general musical director in Muenster, Strasbourg and Munich); from 1948 chief conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of the German radio station Suedwestfunk; then in Zurich; mainly known as a performer of contemporary music, acquainted with A. Schoenberg, A. Berg, A. Webern and P. Hindemith.
