Rosenbauer International AG, largest exporter of fire-fighting vehicles worldwide; headquarters in Leonding (Upper Austria); founded in 1866 in Linz; manufactures fire-fighting equipment; factory founded in 1906; manufacture of fire-fighting vehicles since 1919; construction of the new factory in Leonding in 1968; since then multinational group with subsidiaries and associated companies in Austria and abroad. Leonding manufactures components used for the production of fire-fighting vehicles in Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Argentina, Singapore and the USA. In 1996 Rosenbauer International AG produced 617 fire-fighting vehicles with 925 employees; turnover (1996): ATS 2.03 billion.
