Rothschild, Baron Albert Salomon Anselm von, b. Vienna, Oct. 29, 1844, d. Vienna, Feb. 11, 1911, banker; son of Baron Anselm Salomon von Rothschild, brother of Baron Nathaniel Meyer von Rothschild, father of Baron Louis Nathaniel von Rothschild. From 1872 headed the Rothschild family´s banking business in Vienna; withstood the competition of the French bankers Bintoux, founders of the "Laenderbank", by means of clever speculations on the stock market.
