University professor of physical geography in Innsbruck (1920-1928), Heidelberg (1928-1935) and Vienna (since 1935); secretary of the mathematics and natural science section of the Austrian Academy of Sciences; president of the Austrian Association of Geography (1951), introduction of a seminar on alpine geography at the University of Innsbruck.
