Salzburger Annalen#
Salzburg Annals, records of occurrences and events from the 8th to the 10th century in the province of Salzburg, initiated in the 9th century and recorded around 1150 in a Codex now in the possession of Admont monastery. Date back to annals from around 830 ("Annales Iuvavenses antiqui"), which at first covered the period up to 842 and then continued to 976. The "Annales Iuvavenses maximi" contain some important dates, such as a reference to Vienna in 881, the site of the battle with Hungary in 907 (Pressburg/Bratislava) and a report about the kingship of the Bavarian count Arnulf in 919. A new codex of annals ("Annales Sancti Ruperti") was initiated at St. Peter in Salzburg, which began in 1180, ended in 1286 and were later continued up to 1327.
