Schöpf, Josef#
b. Telfs (Tyrol), Feb. 2, 1745, d. Innsbruck (Tyrol), Sept. 15, 1822. Painter of the late baroque era. Pupil and assistant of M. Knoller and A. R. Mengs, 1775-1783 in Rome, then in Innsbruck. He combined the baroque tradition with classicist forms.
