Schörfling am Attersee#
Schoerfling am Attersee, Upper Austria, market town in the district of Voecklabruck, alt. 514 m, pop. 3,059, area 23.23 km2, at the northern end of Lake Attersee; cadastral district of Kammer (ship landing-stage). - Centre of water sports and bathing beach; metal-working industry and manufacture of plastic window frames, building trade, summer tourism (24,193 overnight stays in 1992). Late-Gothic hall church (1476) with 2 naves, reticulated rib vaulting, a tower adapted in the Baroque style and Baroque interior; Seeschloss Kammer, consisting of several buildings (17th century), converted in 1710 by J. M. Prunner. During the restoration works, which where completed in 1999 Renaissance murals and Baroque frescoes where discovered. In summer the mirror hall is the venue of concerts and exhibitions; served Gustav Klimt as the motif for a number of paintings.
