Scharten, Upper Austria, municipality in the district of Eferding, alt. 397 m, pop. 1,780, area 17.50 km2, south of Eferding. - Leppersdorf mineral spring (private, currently unused); small and medium-sized businesses. - Parish and pilgrimage church (1632), late Gothic parts, later redesigned in Baroque style, with Rococo architecture paintings (around 1770), high altar (1769), altar of the Holy Family (1666); Protestant church (1819) in Unterscharten.
