Schlumberger, Robert Alwin, Edler von Goldeck#
b. Stuttgart (Germany), Sept. 12, 1814, d. Bad Voeslau (Lower Austria), July 13, 1879. Initiated the Austrian sekt (sparkling wine) industry, promoter of viticulture in Austria, founder of the renowned Schlumberger wine and sekt company in Bad Voeslau. From 1843 specialised in the production of sparkling wines by the Champagne method. After his death his descendants took over the business, which owns the oldest registered wine brand in Austria ("Voeslauer Goldeck").
