b. Bohemia, around 1685, d. Krems (Lower Austria), Sept. 15, 1748. Baroque painter; mainly worked in Lower Austria and Vienna. Training in Peter Strudel´s atelier, influenced by Martino Altomonte. Important commissions in collaboration with artists such as J. L. von Hildebrandt, M. Steinl or J. M. Goetz.
