Schnabel, Artur#
Schnabel, Artur, b. Lipník (Poland), April 17, 1882, d. Axenstein (Switzerland), Aug. 15, 1951. Pianist. Pupil of T. Leschetizky and E. Mandyczewski; debut 1890, 1900-1933 in Berlin, from 1925 also active as a teacher. Emigrated to the USA in 1939, from 1944 American citizen; also worked as a composer.
