Schoeller, Paul#
Schoeller, Paul, b. Vienna, June 15, 1853, d. Vienna, Nov. 2, 1920. Industrialist. Nephew of Alexander von Schoeller; joined the Vienna company of the family in 1884, concentrated the mining and metallurgical activities in Ternitz in 1889 ("Ternitzer Stahl- und Eisenwerke von Schoeller & Co.") and additionally acquired the blast furnaces and the hammer and rolling mills of Count Schwarzenberg in Upper Styria in 1906 (closed down for good in 1923). Operated the Huetteldorf brewery, built among other things a cellulose mill in Hirschwang in 1888 and acquired the Gruenbach hard coal mine in 1915.
