Schratt, Peter#
b. Vienna, April 4, 1932, d. Vienna, March 4, 1996, great-nephew of Katharina Schratt. Studied at the Reinhardt-Seminar drama school in Vienna and acted at the Burgtheater from 1963; had mostly parts in classical dramas (e.g. "Die Raeuber", "Maria Stuart", "Die Verschwoerung des Fiesco zu Genua", "Koenig Ottokars Glueck und Ende", "Der Traum ein Leben", "Ein Bruderzwist in Habsburg") but also in modern plays (e.g. by G.B. Shaw, B. Brecht, C. Zuckmayer and F. Duerrenmatt). As an actor and reciter, he was greatly admired for his excellent oratory.
