b. Schaerding (Upper Austria), Nov. 21, 1943. Writer of books for children and young people. Author of humorous and serious picture books, animal stories and stories in which the borderline between reality and phantasy disappears and in which she tries to present the world from a child´s perspective. Austrian Prize for the Best Book for Young Readers for her "Katzenkarneval" (1985).
