Schwarz, Egon#
Schwarz, Egon, b. Vienna, Aug. 8, 1922, literary scholar, translator. 1938 fled to Bolivia via Prague and Paris, 1948 finished school in Ecuador; from 1949 studied German and Romance philology in the USA; 1954 PhD at Washington University of St. Louis; from 1963 professor at this institution. Focussed mainly on German, Austrian and comparative literature.
