Schweiger, Heinrich#

b. Vienna, July 23, 1931, actor (Kammerschauspieler) and director; married to the journalist and politician U. Stenzel. Began his career at the Theater in der Josefstadt in 1948. 1949-1955, 1957 and 1961-1991 at the Burgtheater, where he became a distinguished member of the company. Acted in Munich, Duesseldorf and Hamburg, where he also worked as a director; performances in musicals ("My Fair Lady" at the Vienna Volksoper); well-known from film and television appearances (among others "Seniorenclub", "Ringstrassenpalais"); since 1992 guest performances at the Theater in der Josefstadt. 1967 awarded the J. Kainz Medal, honorary member of the Burgtheater.
