Seelos, Gottfried#
b. Bozen/Bolzano (South Tyrol), Jan. 9, 1829, d. Vienna, March 13, 1900. Landscape painter, son-in-law and student of J. Selleny. Study trips to the Alpine countries, several landscape series which were circulated widely as lithographs, including "Ansichten von Tirol und Vorarlberg" (1856) and "Das Salzkammergut und Berchtesgaden mit Umgebung" (1865); painted landscapes for the Museum of Natural History. His brothers Ignaz and Gustav S. were also painters.
