Seidler, Ernst auch E. Seidler-Feuchtenegg#
b. Schwechat (Lower Austria), June 5, 1862, d. Vienna, Jan. 23, 1931. Law scholar and politician, father of Alma Seidler. University Professor in Vienna, Prime Minister from June 1917 to July 1918, and Minister of Agriculture for some weeks in 1917. Tried unsuccessfully to conciliate the Czechs with the Habsburg monarchy by means of an amnesty. His plans to divide Bohemia along national lines finally led to his fall.
