Siemens SGP Verkehrstechnik GmbH, formed in 1989 as successor to the traditional Austrian vehicle manufacturing compay, Simmering-Graz-Pauker AG, originally under the name of SGP Verkehrstechnik GmbH. more intimately integrated into the world-wide export activities of the Siemens group owing to the participation of Siemens AG Oesterreich (74 % since 1994), since 1996 under its current name. The Vienna plant manufactures Ultra Low Floor Trams (ULF) for the Vienna Transit Company, underground trains for Vienna, Bangkok and Taipeh and leight-weight Metro vehicles for Lille, France, as well as other products. The Graz factory is a world competence centre developing, designing and manufacturing more than 2000 different types of running gear for city transit and long-distance transport lines.
