Simony, Oskar#
b. Vienna, April 23, 1852, d. Vienna, April 6, 1915, mathematician and physicist; son of Friedrich Simony. From 1874 dozent at the University of Agricultural Sciences in Vienna, retired for reasons of poor health (deafness) in 1912. Besides his fields of specialisation pursued many diverse interests (including lectures on meteorology and climatology) and in 1888/89 participated in an expedition to southern Arabia.
