Sindelar, Matthias#

Sindelar, Matthias, b. Jihlava, Czech Republic (then Iglau), Feb. 10, 1903, d. Vienna, Jan. 23, 1939 (cause of death unclear), football player. Played an important role in the development of the "Viennese School" of football and contributed enormously to the success of the so-called "wonder team" "Wunderteam". Centre-forward in the "Austria Wien" team; scored 27 goals in 43 games for the Austrian National Football Team.
