Sobotka, Kurt, b. Vienna, March 9, 1930, actor, revue artist, director. 1948 debut at the Stadttheater Steyr, later at Vienna experimental theatres, at the Theater in der Josefstadt, in Hamburg and Zurich; performed with H. Qualtinger and G. Bronner at the Kaerntnertor revue theater and 1974-1981 at Simpl in Vienna; since 1981 company member of the Theater in der Josefstadt; became popular by programmes on ORF (Austrian broadcasting corporation; e.g. "Zeitventil", "Die grosse Glocke", "Erinnern Sie sich noch?", satirical revue show "Guglhupf") and "Simpl-Revue"; also worked as director.
