Sohmen, Helmut#

Sohmen, Helmut, b. Linz (Upper Austria), Dec. 10, 1939, ship owner. Law studies in Vienna and the USA. As son-in-law of the ship owner Y. K. Pao joined the latter´s company (World Wide Shipping Group) in Hong kong and took it over 1991 (one of the world´s biggest private business companies). Holds many high offices in Hong kong. Awarded the J. Schumpeter Prize in 1998.
