Sonntag, Vorarlberg, municipality in the district of Bludenz, alt. 888 m, population 724, area 81.58 km2, main village in the Grosses Walsertal Valley. - Holiday home and hostel for school trips, local heritage museum, Sonntag - Stein mountain cableway; tourism (23,208 overnight stays), wood processing. - Settled by Walser (Valaisans) around 1300, Austrian territory since 1804; parish church with Gothic choir and Classicist nave (1820) in Boden-Flecken; Buchboden parish church (1726, redecorated in 1904); Bad Rotenbrunnen (health resort after 1834) with chapel (1860); Paarhof farmsteads (some from the 17th -18th centuries).
