Soroptimist-Clubs#

Soroptimist Clubs, Service Clubs for women working outside the home, established in Vienna in 1929, members of "Soroptimist International", established in 1921. There were 29 clubs with 900 members in Austria in 2000. Soroptimist Clubs advocate high ethical principles (friendship, helpfulness, international understanding), they support human rights and promote the improvement of women's position in the society. In 2000 the Soroptimist Clubs all around the world had about 100,000 members in 119 countries.
