Soucek, Slavi#
b. Vienna, Aug. 11, 1898, d. Salzburg, Jan. 6, 1980, painter and graphic artist. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and at the School of Graphic Arts in Vienna. 1919-1943 lived in Germany, Spain and Prague, after 1943 in Salzburg. From 1945 one of the first representatives of abstract art in Salzburg, where his art was very influential. From 1955 worked with O. Kokoschka at the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg and established a School of Graphic Arts there. Works at the Oesterreichische Galerie Belvedere, Vienna, in the Graphische Sammlung Albertina and in the Neue Galerie Linz.
