St. Aegyd am Neuwalde#

St. Aegyd am Neuwalde, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Lilienfeld, alt. 588 m, pop. 2,518, area 184.57 km2, sport tourism in summer (49,986 overnight stays in 1992) and in winter in the upper Traisental Valley; archery grounds. - Volkshilfe charity; former steel casting works (1825-1918), now car supply industry, wire rope manufacturing. - Gothic parish church remodelled in Baroque style with choir and vestry (14th century) with high altar piece by M. J. Schmidt (1785).
