St. Agatha, Bezirk Grieskirchen#
St. Agatha, Upper Austria, municipality in the district of Grieskirchen, alt. 603 m, pop. 2,079, area 31.76 km2, small summer tourist destination (19,588 overnight stays in 1992) on a plateau between the Aschach Oxbow and the Schloegen Oxbow of the River Danube. Small industrial enterprises. On May 17, 1626 an army of peasants under the command of S. Fadinger and C. Zeller set out from here to fight against Bavaria's policy of exploitation and seizure of peasants' property.
