St. Gerold#
St. Gerold, Vorarlberg, municipality in the district of Bludenz, alt .920 m, pop. 329, area 12,58 km2, on a terrace above the River Lutz, in the
Grosses Walsertal Valley. - A pilgrimage and provostry parish church 
was built at the place of a former hermitage, (consecrated in 1313); 
in 1965/66 remnants of a Romanesque church and the Romanesque tomb of 
St. Gerold (d. 978) were excavated; originally a Romanesque 
Chapel of Miracles (St. Antoninus), medieval round tower and 
parts of the old provostry building still extant (1560-1590, 
1660-1680, today assembly room and guest house), reconstructed in 
1965/66.
