St. Oswald#
St. Oswald, Lower Austria, municipality in the district of Melk, alt. 658 m, pop. 1,116, area 32.12 km2, settlement along a road located west of the Yspertal valley. - Saw mill, wood processing, small and medium-sized enterprises. - First documented mention in 998, became a market town in the 13th century (later moved to Altenmarkt in the Yspertal valley); Romanesque parish church with Gothic choir (15th century), redone in Baroque style in 1739; presbytery (18th century).
