Staatsgewerbeschule#
Staatsgewerbeschule ("Government Trade School", Bundesgewerbeschule = "Federal Trade School" from 1920), formed the core of the re-organisation of the technical and industrial schools in Austria (1875) promoted by A. von Dumreicher according to the French model. In terms of administration, it represented a school system which comprised at least a Foremens´ Training School (for middle management duties), a technical school (for practical work at an advanced level in various industries) and an industrial vocational school, but did not necessarily have high-level departments (advanced-level industrial schools for building and construction, machine engineering or chemical engineering). The organisation and the names of these types of school were legally changed in 1962 ( berufsbildende Schulen (vocational schools)).
