Stadtrat#

Municipal Council (Stadtrat): inner circle of officers (Municipal Councillors) elected from among the members of the Local Council (also called Stadtsenat) entrusted with local government. Some chartered cities and towns have "amtsfuehrende Stadtraete" ("municipal councillors with administrative authority" (Vienna, Linz, Graz, Klagenfurt, Salzburg, Innsbruck), in others the Municipal Councillors preside over the respective committees but have no administrative functions.
