Steinach am Brenner, Tirol, market town in the district of Innsbruck Land, alt. 1,048 m, pop. 3,104, area 28.05 km2, winter sports resort (300,096 overnight stays) at the entrance of the Gschnitz valley into the Wipptal valley, Gschnitz Valley Bridge (1966/67). - District forestry office, branch office of the regional health and social insurance agency, therapy centre, school of rural domestic science, A.-Graber Museum. - Parish church with impressive twin-towered façade and neo-Romanesque narthex, frescoes (1867-71) by G. Mader, Rococo high altar (1770) and altar pieces by M. Knoller; originally Romanesque Ursulakirche church (redecorated in Baroque style) near Mauern; late-Gothic Ulrichskirche church (around 1480) near Tienzens; near Velperquelle spring.
